According to Facebook News ” Whatsapp will stop working on Windows Phone and BlackBerry Smartphone. WhatsApp Messenger is a freeware and cross-platform instant messaging and Voice over IP service.
The popular messaging app will stop working on Windows Phone 8.0 operating systems and blackberry 10 after December 31, 2017.
The company made the announcement in an update to a blog post that was originally published in February 2016. Whatsapp is a Facebook-owned company. The WhatsApp blog post with end-of-life dates clearly mentions that users of update “If you use one of these affected mobile devices, we recommend upgrading to a newer OS version, or to a newer Android running OS 4.0+, iPhone running iOS 7+, or Windows Phone 8.1+ so that you can continue using WhatsApp.”

It is also planning to cut support for Nokia operating system which runs S40 series devices on 1 Jan 2018 and phones running Android versions 2.3.7 and older on 1 February 2020. It focuses its development attentions elsewhere.
Last month WhatsApp release new messenger apps which is related to business, called WhatsApp business. Whatsapp said, “If you use one of these affected mobile devices, we recommend upgrading to a newer Android, iPhone, or Windows Phone.”
