The Nissan Sunny will be first midsize sedan available on sale in India from Nissan. The sedan has been one of the best-selling Nissan cars in India. But with the rising competition in the segment, its sales started dropping. It received a facelift which featured various stylistic updates, while mechanically it remains unchanged.
The new model gets new signature boomerang shaped headlights, modified front and rear bumpers, chromed grille. And new fog lamps, new Y-design alloys/ wheel caps and other styling changes along with a new black color. On the inside, new Piano Black central console sporting a 5.1-inch infotainment system with built-in navigation and Bluetooth. The vehicle continues to be powered the same 1.5 liter K9K diesel mated to a five speed manual transmission. On the other hand, petrol is also powered by the similar 1.5 liter naturally aspirated engine mated to a 5 speed manual or CVT AT.
Nissan launched the facelifted Sunny with a starting price of Rs 7.91 lakh. Updates include the Sandstone Brown body colour, chrome garnishing on door handles, optional dual-tone black and gray fabric seats and an all-black interior panels. The ride is very smooth and comfortable, but drive isn’t engaging. The NVH levels need an improvement, too.

Nissan Sunny Interior
On the interior, It is the area that has gone under the hammer the most and appears drastically changed from the outgoing model of Sunny. The grayish interior shade has gone for a toss in favor of a more appealing and premium shade. The sporty 3-spoke design with silver inserts looks as good as it feels. Controls for audio and Bluetooth are mounted right on the wheel for quick access.
The Piano Black finish with silver accents on the sides of the centre console adds to the premium ambience. The front doors are designed in a manner to have bottle holders along with pockets for maps and notebooks. The top-end variant comprises of leather seats as well as leather covered gear knobs.
The Sunny sedan is really admirable for the knee room even for the rear seats. There is plenty of space at the back which makes it a perfect wagon for long drives. There are circular A/C vents at the rear too for the sake of rear seat occupants As for the infotainment, the Sunny comes loaded with a 2 DIN Wide-display Audio System with AM/FM radio and CD player. It also features a large, colored, easy to read display screen regarding the information on audio and songs. Additionally, as mentioned before, the volumes can also be adjusted via the steering wheel and phone calls can also be received.
Nissan Sunny Exterior
The facelifted model received multiple exterior changes, though the overall shape of the car remained similar to the old model. The slightly V-shaped front grille too gains more dominance this time around. And hold the company logo at the centre. Beneath the headlamps.
The Sunny flaunts an all new pair of fog lamps with loads of chrome surrounding. The side profile looks largely identical to the old model, except for the side indicators and new Y-design alloys/ wheel caps. There are also chrome touches at the rear just above the number plate which transform the sedan into a much premium territory. Furthermore, there is a black ‘splitter’ which has been used to break up the large 490-litre of boot. ORVM with integrated turn indicators, antenna on the rear of the roof and revised rear bumper with a chrome strip are other evident changes. The sedan is now available in a new black color that appears purple in sunlight.
