In 1975, The United Nations began celebrating International Women’s Day (IWD) on 8 March during International Women’s Year 1975.

In December 1977, the UN General Assembly was adopt a resolution proclaiming, in accordance with their historical and national traditions. Since, International women’s day celebration is celebrating as a socialist political event.

Therefore, In different regions the focus of the celebrations ranges from general celebration of respect, appreciation and love towards women for their economic, political and social achievements. In addition, An effective Women’s Day was the 1975.  Due to, Icelandic women’s strike which paved the way for the first female president in the world, Vigdís Finnbogadóttir.
